Jeremy Wohlwend is a PhD student in Regina Barzilay’s group at CSAIL, MIT. His work lies at the intersection of machine learning and biology. Jeremy is interested in modeling protein interactions, particularly in the context of efficiency and scalability. In the past, Jeremy has worked on medical imaging, developing tools to predict the risk of lung cancer from low-dose CT scans. Motivated by such ideas in disease diagnostics and leveraging his work in protein modeling, Jeremy has taken a recent interest in modeling olfactory receptor proteins to accelerate the design of olfactory-based biosensors.
